Business Class menus featuring Italian regional signature dishes, gelato in Premium Economy and Economy.

ITA Airways is enhancing its onboard dining experience on intercontinental flights, reaffirming its commitment to showcasing the excellence of Italy's culinary and wine heritage while offering passengers an even more distinctive travel experience.

The main highlight is the new Business Class menu, available throughout the summer season on all intercontinental flights departing from Rome Fiumicino. Designed to combine quality, presentation and seasonality, the new menu features carefully selected ingredients and draws inspiration from Italy's regional traditions, taking passengers on a culinary journey through the country's diverse flavors and gastronomic heritage.

The new menu begins with a Tuscan-inspired panzanella, celebrating freshness and simplicity, accompanied by an octopus and potato appetizer that reflects the flavors of Campanian cuisine. Among the pasta courses, scrigni pasta filled with burrata pays tribute to Puglia, while fregola with pistachios, shrimp and lemon evokes the aromas and ingredients of the Mediterranean, drawing inspiration from Sardinia and Sicily. Main courses feature two iconic signature dishes from the Lazio tradition — Saltimbocca alla Romana and cuttlefish with peas — before concluding with a ricotta and sour cherry dessert, a tribute to the authentic flavors of the region.

Reinterpreted with a contemporary approach, these recipes celebrate Italy's rich culinary heritage, creating a true "journey within the journey" that allows passengers to discover the country's flavors, traditions and finest ingredients, where innovation meets heritage in a unique dining experience.

The Business Class offering is further elevated with the introduction of Bellavista Alma Assemblage Franciacorta, expanding the selection of premium Italian products available onboard. In addition, following the positive feedback received during last year's trial phase, bread served with I&P extra virgin Grand Cru Monte Freddo – Caninese olive oil will now become a permanent feature of the Business Class dining service.

This summer, passengers travelling in Premium Economy and Economy Class on intercontinental flights departing from Rome Fiumicino will also enjoy a new addition to the onboard service, with ice cream introduced as part of the meal service.

Through these enhancements, ITA Airways continues to invest in elevating the onboard experience, promoting the excellence of Italian food and wine while ensuring that passengers begin experiencing Italy from the very moment they step onboard an ITA Airways flight—even through its flavors.

The 2026 summer season marks a further phase of network consolidation and expansion for ITA Airways, with a total of 72 destinations across domestic, international and intercontinental markets, and a schedule designed to meet growing leisure demand, support business travel and accommodate increasing inbound tourism to Italy.

Among the season's highlights is the new Rome Fiumicino–Houston service, the first-ever nonstop connection between the two cities, which has recently been increased to up to five weekly flights. The route further strengthens the airline's presence in North America, a strategic market, alongside expanded services to established destinations such as Miami. The summer network also includes new European and Mediterranean destinations, including Málaga, Valencia, Marseille, Mykonos, Alicante and Trapani, as well as seasonal services to some of the region's most popular leisure destinations and additional frequencies to Southern Italy and the islands, reinforcing ITA Airways' role in promoting Italy as a global destination.

At the same time, the airline continues to expand its presence in Asia and the Middle East, with increased frequencies to Bangkok and Delhi and the resumption of services to Tel Aviv, operated with the Airbus A321neo and integrated into the network via the Rome Fiumicino hub. A flexible capacity management strategy also enables the Company to adapt its offering to evolving market demand and the international operating environment while maintaining the highest standards of operational performance and customer service.
