To mark the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the city is introducing a new annual flagship event: Berlin Freedom Week. From November 8 to 15, 2025, the city will become a global stage for democracy, human rights, and civic engagement. A diverse programme of exhibitions, workshops, guided tours, concerts, and film screenings will invite people of all generations to take part.

A highlight will be the Berlin Freedom Conference on November 10, 2025 which will bring together around 800 leaders from the worlds of politics, business, culture, civil society, and the media to promote democratic change. Expect keynotes, sharp debates, and fast-paced exchanges between people who are actively shaping policy, culture, and business — all to spark ideas, build networks, and push democracies to act with purpose.

With this initiative, Berlin reaffirms its role as a City of Freedom and a platform for democratic dialogue.
