In the Spanish market, ITA Airways currently operates up to 40 weekly frequencies (80 flights) between Spain and Italy, with direct services from Madrid and Barcelona to Rome Fiumicino. From the airline’s main hub, passengers benefit from seamless connections to ITA Airways’ international and intercontinental destinations, including South America (São Paulo, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro) and North America, which in the summer 2026 season will see the launch of a new route to Houston, Texas.
ITA Airways has recently announced a further enhancement of its Spanish offering for the 2026 summer season with the introduction of new daily seasonal flights, complementing the existing services from Madrid and Barcelona to Rome Fiumicino. From 1 June to 30 September, the airline will launch the Rome Fiumicino–Málaga and Rome Fiumicino–Valencia routes, already available for purchase through the Company’s sales channels, designed to meet strong leisure demand to two key Mediterranean destinations.
London and Houston
These additions are complemented by the resumption of services between Rome Fiumicino and London Heathrow with two daily frequencies from 29 March, further strengthening connectivity between Italy and the UK’s main international hub. Also launching for the summer season is a new seasonal daily flight from Rome Fiumicino to Marseille, operating from 1 June to 30 September 2026.
On the long-haul network, summer 2026 marks the debut of the new Rome Fiumicino–Houston service, launching on 1 May with three weekly frequencies, increasing to five weekly frequencies in the June – October period. This will be the first direct connection between the two hubs and ITA Airways’ ninth destination in North America, underscoring the strategic role of the intercontinental network in the airline’s growth.
Tickets for ITA Airways flights are available for purchase on www.ita-airways.com, through the Customer Information Assistance Office, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.
