Two fine restaurants in Tirol’s longest side valley were awarded at Austria’s comeback of the renowned gourmet Guide Michelin. “Austria Stuben” in Gurgl and “Ötztaler Stube” in Sölden now have one of the coveted Michelin Stars.
Ötztal has positioned itself as a top destination for culinary variety at the highest level. Impressive evidence of this fact is the current assessment of Austria’s gourmet experts by the culinary Michelin Guide, which names Tirol the leader among the federal states with an impressive 20 star-awarded restaurants. In Gurgl, the Fine Dine Austria Stuben at Gourmet & Wine Hotel Austria impressed the judges with its highly creative cuisine. "This is another milestone that makes us proud and further encourages us to continue on the path we have chosen. Our deepest thanks go to our kitchen team led by Verena Stattmann," delightedly states hotelier Maximilian Steiner - Austria's best sommelier, by the way. Quaint Ötztaler Stube at Hotel Das Central in Sölden was highly praised for its regional focus with modern influences, opening a new chapter in its long culinary history thanks to the Michelin Star. "Our special appreciation goes to kitchen chef Stefan Speiser, his sous chef Julia Gutenbrunner and their entire team," says host Angelika Falkner, paying tribute to the kitchen staff's achievements.
